Teachers can assign a Library Lesson directly from the CommonLit Library. When logged in as a teacher, in the navigation bar at the top of the page click on Browse Content > The Library. You can then browse, search, and filter through our collection to find a text that fits what you’re looking for. You can use the filters at the top of the page to filter by grade level, genre, standard, content type, and more.
Alternatively, if you know which text you wish to assign, just click on the search bar below "The Library" and search the title of the text or the author's name.
When you identify the text you want to assign, click the text thumbnail to open the text, and then click the “ASSIGN” button above the text’s title. You will then be directed to the Student Assignment Preview page where you can select the class(es) or individual student(s) to which you’d like to assign the text, choose to disable Guided Reading Mode or enable it for specific students, select the Assessment Questions to assign, set the due date, and, optionally, customize the Annotation Task. For more information on how to customize which questions students answer on Library Lessons, please see the FAQ: Can I customize which questions my students can answer on Library Lessons?
