How can I edit an assignment?

To edit an existing assignment, locate the assignment on your My Classes Dashboard. Then, click the three stacked dots on the far right and choose Edit Assignment. This will open the Edit Assignment view, where you can edit:

  • The start date and time (as long as no students have started the assignment)
  • The due date and time
  • Whether or not answers are required to in-text instructional questions on 360 & Target Lessons or Guided Reading Mode on text assignments
  • The Lesson Overview for 360 & Target Lessons or the annotation task for text assignments

To edit the start date/time or due date/time, open the Edit Assignment view. Then, click into the field you want to edit, and choose a new date or time.

Note: Editing a start date or time affects whether students can see the assignment or not. Students cannot see assignments with start dates or times in the future.

You can also use the toggles to adjust which non-scored questions students see and or required to answer. These include In-Text Instructional Questions (360 & Target Lessons), Reading Modalities (360 Lessons), and Guided Reading Mode questions (text library assignments).

Some questions, like In-Text Instructional Questions, will be displayed to students regardless, while others can be removed entirely, like Guided Reading Mode questions. To adjust any of these settings, use the toggles to set the questions to YES or NO.

Note: You cannot edit assessment options once a lesson has been assigned. For example, if you selected "only multiple-choice questions" when creating the assignment, you will be unable to change that once the assignment has been created. If no students have started the assignment, you can delete the assignment and create it again.

Finally, to edit the Lesson Overview (360 & Target Lessons) or the Annotation Task (text library assignments), simply open the Edit Assignment view, update the text in that field, and click Save Changes.
