A great way to differentiate while storing all your class data in 1 place is to create class-wide assignments and then exempt students who you don't want taking that assignment.
To exempt students from an assignment:
- Go to the Assignment Report (get there from the assignment page by clicking on the graph icon for that assignment; you can also get there from the assignment's dashboard or grading page).
- Scroll to the bottom of the Assignment Report to the INCOMPLETE ASSIGNMENTS list.
- Use the checkboxes to select the students you want to exempt and click EXEMPT FROM ASSIGNMENT.
- Change your mind? To add these students back to the assignment, you can click the checkbox next to a student's name in the EXEMPTED FROM ASSIGNMENT list. Then click ADD TO ASSIGNMENT.
To exempt students from a 360 instructional lesson:
- Go to the Assignment Report (get there from the assignment page by clicking on the graph icon for that assignment; you can also get there from the assignment's dashboard or grading page).
- Scroll down to the Overall Scores table.
- Find an in progress or not started student in the list and click the dropdown arrow in the Total Scores column next to their status.
- Click Exempt Assignment
