"You are trying to connect to a second Google account. Please connect to the Google user that you originally imported with. If you need to change the Google account you connect with, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org."
A CommonLit account can only be connected to 1 Google Classroom account. If you receive the above message, this means that you are trying to connect to a Google Account that is different from the Google Account already associated with your CommonLit account. Most likely, in a previous school year, you connected to Google Account A. Now, in a new semester or year, when we ask you to reauthenticate with Google, you are trying to connect to Google Account B. Since Google Account A is already connected to your CommonLit account, we cannot connect you to Google Account B.
If you need to connect to a new Google account than you have in the past, you will need to email us at email@example.com asking that we remove the old Google account from your CommonLit account so you can connect to a new one. This will disconnect any classes imported under Google account A from Google Classroom. You will only be able to connect to classes that are imported under Google Account B moving forward.
Note: The email on your CommonLit account does not need to match the email on your Google Account to connect to Google Classroom. Rather, you only need to connect to your Google account once, but once you do, you cannot match to a different one.
