Every CommonLit text is available online. You can find a printable student copy of nearly every text — including the student introduction, footnotes, assessment questions, and discussion questions — by clicking the Download PDF button above the title on the text’s page. When you click the Download PDF button, a pop-up message will appear, and you will need to select the number of students you plan to share the PDF with, choose a font size, and click Continue.

Please note, you must be logged into a confirmed account to download PDFs.

If a Download PDF button is not enabled, a note should appear upon hovering over the disabled Download PDF button: due to copyright restrictions, CommonLit does not have PDF distribution rights for the text. These texts can and should only be assigned digitally.

If you are logged in and still experiencing difficulty downloading a PDF for a text with an enabled Download PDF button, please check your browser settings to see if pop-ups are being blocked by your browser. If pop-ups are being blocked by your browser, enable pop-ups from CommonLit.org to ensure you are able to download PDFs of CommonLit texts.
