What does a student see when I release an assignment on CommonLit?
Students can view their assignment grades and teacher feedback once you release their scores. If you have elected for students to see the correct answers for an assignment, they will see this information as well.
For further guidance on how to release an assignment on CommonLit, please see the following article: How do my students see their assignment scores and writing feedback?
When an assignment is released, students will see the assignment move from Grading in Progress to Completed Assignments on the My Assignments page of their account.
When a student selects the option to View Score, they will see a copy of their assignment with their responses saved.
If you enabled the option for students to see the correct answers for an assignment, for each multiple choice question students will see the question, their response, and a link to "Show correct answer."
If you have NOT enabled the option for students to see the correct answers for an assignment, for each multiple choice question students will see the question and their response only.
When a student reviews their assignment or views their score after submission, they do not have the ability to revise their work. If you are interested in having students redo their work based on the feedback you have shared, you may unsubmit the assignment back to the student.
For further guidance on how to unsubmit an assignment, please see the following article: What do I do if a student needs to retake an assignment? Can I reset or unsubmit a student's assignment?
