How do I edit the start or due dates on my Canvas assignment?

This article is intended only for customers and partners using Canvas. Our Canvas integration is available for schools and districts who purchase a School Essentials PRO package.

After you have linked an assignment to Canvas, the start and due dates are still controlled by CommonLit. You have the option to add due and start (and close) dates and times in Canvas. These control when students can see and access the assignment in Canvas. However, if there is a mismatch between Canvas and CommonLit and a student accesses an assignment in Canvas that has a future start date in CommonLit, the student will not be able to complete the assignment in CommonLit until the CommonLit start date arrives.
