CommonLit 360 units are designed to be flexibly used. If you choose to teach a unit that is different from your students' grade level, make sure to preview the unit carefully. Units increase in difficulty by grade level and across a year. For example, the texts become more complex and the writing expectations become more rigorous. Additionally, units’ priority skills vary by unit genre and grade level. For example, 6th-grade Unit 2 may not have the same priority skills as 7th-grade Unit 2 or 7th-grade Unit 3.
