Yes! Teachers can now lock a diagnostic for an entire class in order to prevent students from resuming the test outside of the class period.
To lock a class's diagnostic, find the diagnostic on your assignments page and click the DASHBOARD button. Then, from the test's Dashboard page, click the teal LOCK ASSESSMENT button.
To unlock the diagnostic when you're ready to do so, simply return to the Diagnostic's Dashboard page and click the teal UNLOCK ASSESSMENT button. This will restore your students' diagnostics with their saved progress to their accounts.
Please note that locking a diagnostic saves your students' progress and removes the diagnostic from their accounts until you return to unlock the test from your account. At this time, you can only lock the test for an entire class. It is not possible to lock the diagnostic for individual students.
Note: If your district has chosen to purchase Assessments Series in CommonLit School Essentials or CommonLit School Essentials Pro, you will not have access to the Diagnostic feature on CommonLit.org. Instead, you'll be able to collect baseline data through the first assessment in the Assessment Series.
