No, you cannot edit the content of the short answer assessment questions. However, you can omit them from an assignment when creating it.
When creating an assignment, choose from the "Assessment Options" drop-down to assign only multiple choice questions or no assessment questions to omit short answer responses from the questions students will be asked on their assignment.
You can also change the annotation task when creating or editing an assignment to provide additional note-taking directions to students.
