CommonLit's greatest asset is its library of texts. With hundreds of short stories, news articles, poems, primary source documents, short plays, fiction excerpts, and nonfiction pieces for middle- and high-school students, there's something for every student! CommonLit's library will help expand your curriculum with quality resources and plan for new, exciting units.
There are many ways to browse CommonLit's library. If you're just getting started, we recommend visiting our Featured Content page here.
If you know what you're looking for, click the Library link in the navigation menu at the top of the website. You should see a drop-down of options for how to browse: by theme, related book title, text set topic, grade level, literary device, genre, etc. You can also search our collection directly from that drop-down as well.
If you're trying to find something specific, visit our View All Texts page here. From there you can sort the entire collection by Lexile, or filter it by grade level, theme, genre, and more. This is especially helpful for planning out specific units.
Finally, you can always search for a specific title or author by clicking on the search icon in the top-right corner of every page.
