Finding a Target Lesson

To find Target Lessons, log in to your CommonLit account and select Target Lessons near the bottom of the menu on the left. From here, you can use the Select Grade menu to choose an appropriate grade level, and you can further filter these lessons by selecting from the available categories near the top of the page.

You can search for specific target lessons using the Search & Filter view found at the top of the menu on the left. On this view, you can select Target Lesson as the Content Type and filter by Grade, Genre, Lexile Range, and Standards.

Assigning a Target Lesson

To assign a Target Lesson, click the Assign button at the top of the page to open the Create an Assignment view.

From there, you can select the class(es) you would like to assign the Target Lesson to, as well as select the option to require answers to Instructional In-Text Questions on or off for the lesson. After that, you can choose the start and due date, as well as customize the lesson directions by clicking on the Customize Directions section below the Start date and due date section.

Once you have finished those steps, you will then click the yellow Assign button at the bottom of the view to finish assigning the lesson.
