Can homeschool teachers and tutors sign up for CommonLit?

Note for parent users: If you need to transition your parent account over to an Educator or Homeschool Educator account, please reach out to help@commonlit.org and mention that you need an account transfer.

Yes! CommonLit is available to homeschool educators and tutors. CommonLit is a great option for users who want their students to utilize CommonLit outside of a traditional school setting.

Homeschool educators and tutors can sign up for CommonLit by reaching out to CommonLit Support at help@commonlit.org to verify their identity and begin the sign-up process.

For homeschool educators, CommonLit requests you send a form of verification. This may include a letter of certification from your child's school district or a copy of a membership card to a homeschool umbrella group. If your child has a district or school-appointed homeschool liaison with a district email, you can also CC them in to verify your status as a homeschool educator. If you don't have access to these forms of verification, please still reach out to help@commonlit.org and the Support Team will work with you to create an account.

For tutors, please send a link to your professional tutoring website or a copy of your teaching certificate. If you don't have access to either of these, please still reach out to help@commonlit.org and the Support Team will work with you to create an account.

Please note: Due to permissions and copyright agreements, CommonLit does not currently grant account access to for-profit tutoring organizations. However, you and your team are welcome to view any texts that are not password protected on our site without an account.
