Can I merge duplicate student accounts imported from Clever, Google Classroom, Canvas, or ClassLink?
Yes! You can merge duplicate accounts imported from Clever, Google Classroom, Canvas, or ClassLink. You can merge these students' accounts from your Manage Students page for a class that includes the student's duplicate accounts. What happens if I merge a Google student account with a non-Google student account that doesn’t have an email?
If a student's account does not have an email shared with CommonLit on Clever, you can merge their duplicate accounts and they will be able to log in to CommonLit using any other integrations they are associated with. CommonLit will keep their Google email, their merged account will be attached to Google and any other integrations they are associated with, and their scores will be exported to Google Classroom.
What happens if I merge a Google student account with a non-Google student account and the accounts' emails don't match?
If a student’s email is shared with CommonLit on Clever, Canvas, or ClassLink and that email doesn’t match the email associated with their account imported from Google Classroom, you can merge their duplicate accounts, and they will be able to log in using Google and any other integrations they are associated with. CommonLit will keep their Google email, their merged account will be attached to Google and any other integrations they are associated with, and their scores will be exported to Google Classroom.
What happens if I merge a Google student account with a non-Google student account and their emails do match?
If a student’s email is shared with CommonLit on Clever, Canvas, or ClassLink and that email does match their Google Classroom email, CommonLit will automatically merge those accounts and these students will be able to log in using Google Classroom and any other integrations they are associated with. CommonLit will keep the email shared between the integrations, their account will be attached to Google and any other integrations they are associated with, and their scores will be exported to Google Classroom.
