Does CommonLit offer an offline mode?

CommonLit assignments have an offline mode feature embedded in them; however, there is no official "offline mode" for students.

CommonLit does not offer a fully offline app that can be used like a computer application or phone app. To save student responses and teacher assignments and grades, the site requires an internet connection.

CommonLit does offer an offline feature on student assignments that will save answers in a student's browser if they have unreliable or unstable internet and are temporarily disconnected from the internet. When the student's internet stabilizes, the site saves their answers to the CommonLit database. This works so long as the student's internet stabilizes before their session expires (students are logged out after two hours for security purposes).

If you have any additional questions on how to support your students, please email help@commonlit.org or use the live chat feature (the teal "Help" button) from 9 - 5 PM EST on Monday - Friday.
