How can a co-teacher view an individual/small-group assignment?
You can add and manage the co-teachers who have access to your Individual/Small Group Assignments. A co-teacher can do anything to the assignment except delete it or add to/edit its co-teachers.
The co-teachers on a class do not automatically see Individual/Small Group Assignments for students in the classes that the two of you co-teach. Instead, the primary teacher can control the co-teacher(s) who have access to the Individual/Small Group Assignment directly from the create and edit Individual/Small Group Assignment windows.
When creating an Individual/Small Group Assignment, a new field will appear that lets you add a co-teacher to the list.
Note: The co-teachers you can choose from are only those that you share at least one class with.
An Individual/Small Group Assignment is owned by whoever creates it, even if that person is normally a secondary teacher of the class the students are in.
After you create an assignment, you can add or remove co-teachers on that assignment from the Edit Assignment window. To get there, click the pencil icon in the top-right corner of the assignment on your Assignments page (or on the Assignment Dashboard). At the bottom, you will see the option to add or remove co-teachers.
If a co-teacher leaves or is removed from your class and you no longer share any classes, they will still be shared on Individual/Small Group Assignments. You can remove them from Individual/Small Group Assignments using the Edit Assignment window. If you no longer share any classes, you will not be able to add them back.
Individual/Small Group Assignments are owned by faculty memberships in a school, rather than by classes. If a co-teacher leaves your school, CommonLit will remove their access to any Individual/Small Group Assignments you've shared with them. If you move schools, you will lose access to all Individual/Small Group Assignments at your former school; if any of them have co-teachers still in the former school, CommonLit will transfer over ownership of those Individual/Small Group Assignments to one of the remaining co-teachers.
