How can I see if students have started their annotations or guided reading questions?
If you have assigned a lesson without assessment questions, or if it's taking a while for students to start answering their final assessment questions, that does not mean students are not working. They may be completing Guided Reading Mode questions, or annotating a text.
You can view live student annotations and Guided Reading Mode responses on an assignment.
To view live annotations, go to your Assignments page and click the highlighter icon on the assignment to be taken to the Student Annotations page. From there, you can move through students using the dropdown to see their annotations. Click the See Latest Annotations button to see updates they are making in the moment.
To view students' progress on Guided Reading Questions, you can go to the Assignment Report. Get there by clicking Assignment Report on the left side of the Assignment Dashboard or Student Annotations page, or by clicking the graph icon for the assignment on the Assignments page. Then scroll down to the Attempts Summary: Guiding Questions section. Refresh the page for live updates as students answer questions.
To view Live Updates for 360 Reading Lessons, 360 Writing Lessons, and Target Lessons, make sure to click the Automatically Update button under the section of the Assignment Report you are viewing to ensure it is toggled on.
You can also track if students are in progress on Guided Reading Mode questions from their Individual Student Performance pages.
