How do I join my teacher's class with a class code?

Classes on CommonLit can be joined with a unique class code. If you do not know the class code for your class, please ask your teacher.

If you do NOT already have a CommonLit account:

Go to www.commonlit.org/enroll. Enter your class code there. Then fill out your name, password, and a school email if you have one. You can also provide your personal email, or leave the email blank. 

If you DO already have a CommonLit account:

Go to the CommonLit login page and sign into your account. Add another teacher's class code by going to your My Account and Classes page. Click on Add another class code and enter your new class code.

Having trouble joining a class with a class code?

If you're having trouble joining a class with a class code, it could be due to one of the reasons below:

• You are typing the class code wrong - Double check you have entered the class code correctly. If you're not sure, retype the class code or ask your teacher for help.
• You are trying to join an archived class - If your teacher has archived the class you are trying to join, you will not be able to join using the class code.
• You already have an account - If you try to sign up using a class code and an email, and that email is already connected to another CommonLit student account, you will not be allowed to sign up for a new account using that same email address. Go to the CommonLit login page and sign into your account. Add another teacher's class code by going to your My Account and Classes page. Click on Add another class code and enter your new class code.
