How do I complete the assessment my teacher assigned me?

Once the Test Date has arrived for the assessment your teacher scheduled for your class, you will see the test appear on your My Assignments page under your Assessments To Do section.

Click on the Begin Assessment button to open the test. Then, you will see a window pop up with general instructions about the test. These instructions will also include information on test-taking tools that are available to you such as a highlighter tool, a notepad tool, and the ability to change the font size on the assessment.

Once you've read these instructions, click the Accept button, and then you'll be able to begin reading the passages and answering the questions. You will see this window each time you refresh your page or re-open your test.

To highlight information as you read using the highlighter tool, you can click and drag words in the passage and then select the color you want to highlight that section with. To remove a highlight, you just need to click and drag over that section again and select the option to Remove Highlight.

You can use the notepad tool by clicking the Notepad button in the upper right-hand corner. You can type notes, outlines, etc. in the notes box and it will save automatically. However, any notes you take will not be seen or scored by your teachers.

Lastly, you can change the font size by clicking Font Size next to the Notepad button. You have the option to adjust the text to Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large. This will change the font size of both the passage you are reading as well as the questions on the right.

The assessment includes three reading passages and multiple-choice questions. Once you have carefully read the three texts and answered each question to the best of your ability, click Next on the last question. Note, if you have not answered all of the questions on the assessment, you will see a list of the unanswered questions. You can click the link to return to the question and select an an answer.

If you have no unanswered questions, or once you have reviewed your assessment, click the Next button again. A pop-up box will appear, and you will need to click Submit to officially turn in your assessment to your teacher.
