Can I post assignments to Google Classroom?
Yes, if you have imported your classes with Google Classroom, you can post assignments to Google Classroom. After you create an assignment, you will see a window with the options to post your assignment and scores, or just the assignment, to your Google Classroom stream.
Post Assignment and Scores to Google Classroom will create an assignment in your stream, update to show students' assignment statuses, and export grades to Google Classroom.
Post Assignment to Google Classroom will create an assignment in your stream and update with students' assignment statuses, but will not show you or students their scores on CommonLit.
You'll be given the opportunity to edit your post before sharing it, including the ability to customize the points value of the assignment in Google. CommonLit will always include a link that sends your students directly from Google Classroom to their CommonLit assignment.
If your assignment has a start date in the future, CommonLit will wait to post it to Google Classroom until the start date. You can also leave the Share window and reopen it later from the Assignments page or the Assignment Dashboard by clicking the Share button:
If you decide later that you do want to export grades to your Google Classroom grade book, you can turn on this setting from your Assignment Dashboard. CommonLit will prompt you to share the assignment on Google, if you haven't yet, to allow this grade book sharing.
Didn't import your class with Google Classroom? You can still post assignments to any Google Classroom stream of your choosing by copying the link for the assignment and pasting it in an assignment in Google Classroom, but you cannot post scores to your grade book.
