How can I view and leave feedback on my students' annotations on CommonLit 360 lessons?
In this article, we will cover:
Viewing student annotations
Teachers can view students' annotations on CommonLit 360 assignments from the Student Annotations page for the assignment.
To get there, go to the Classes and Assignments page (My Classes on the left > Assignments along the top), find the assignment, and click the name of the assignment to view the Assignment Dashboard. From there, select the Student Annotations tab.
Scroll through the assignment to view comments and highlights a student left on their assignment. You can toggle between students using the drop-down in the left-hand corner of the Student Annotations page, and you can click See Latest Annotations to see a live update of new annotations added by that student in real time. You can also filter the drop-down to only list students who have made annotations by checking the box beneath it.

Leaving feedback on student annotations
Teachers can leave feedback or make comments on students' annotations for CommonLit 360 assignments from the Student Annotations page for the assignment.
You can switch between students using the "Select student..." drop-down in the top-left, and click the See Latest Annotations button in the top-right to view any new annotations added by that student since the last page load.
After choosing a student's name from the drop-down, click on their annotation to provide feedback. This will reveal the exact segment the student annotated underlined in green, as well as a Reply box. Add your comment in the box and then click the Reply button to publish the comment. As soon as you add your comment, the student will see it on their assignment if they refresh the page.

To edit or delete your comment, click the three stacked dots in the upper right-hand corner of the comment box and then select Edit Reply or Delete Reply.
