How do I assign a CommonLit 360 Reading Lesson? How can I customize a CommonLit 360 Reading Lesson?
You will find all Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, Grammar, Discussion, and Related Media Lessons on the Lessons page of a CommonLit 360 Unit page. To find these units, you can click the CommonLit 360 Curriculum tile on the Home page or click 360 Curriculum on the menu on the left. You'll then be given the option to select units for grades 6-12 by clicking on the grade level tab you are interested in viewing.
Once you click the grade level you would like to view units for, you can then select the specific unit you would like to look at. After you've selected a unit, you'll be taken to the Unit Overview page. This page provides a Unit Introduction video, as well as an overview of the Culminating Task for the unit.
From there, you can click on the Lessons tab to view all of the lessons within that unit. Here you will find the materials needed for a lesson and you can digitally assign a lesson by clicking Show More over on the right.
To assign a Reading Lesson digitally, click Show More and then the Preview or Assign button. You will then see the Student Preview of the lesson while creating the assignment. To create the assignment, click the Assign button at the top of the page.
The Create an Assignment view will then pop up, and from there you can select a class, enable/disable Reading Modalities, turn on/turn off requiring answers to Instructional In-Text Questions, choose whether to assign all assessment questions or just multiple-choice questions, select a start date and due date, and customize the assignment directions if needed. Once you have made your selections, you will then click the Assign button.
