Can I teach a different grade’s CommonLit 360 unit to my students?

CommonLit 360 units are designed to be flexibly used. If you choose to teach a unit that is different from your students' grade level, make sure to preview the unit carefully.

Units increase in difficulty by grade level and across a year. For example, the texts become more complex and the writing expectations become more rigorous. Additionally, units’ priority skills vary by unit genre and grade level; 6th Grade Unit 2 may not have the same priority skills as 7th Grade Unit 2 or 7th Grade Unit 3.
