Why are teachers and students in North Carolina being asked to update their passwords?

Due to North Carolina regulations, students and teachers in North Carolina are required to set a strong password for their CommonLit accounts that meets the requirements set by these regulations.

Passwords for both teachers and students in North Carolina must contain:

• At least 14 characters
• At least 1 lowercase letter
• At least 1 uppercase letter
• At least 1 number
• At least 1 special character

Students and teachers are able to use SSO through Google, ClassLink, or Clever if they would like to streamline their log in experience.
