What are the cutoff scores for the Student Performance groups on the CommonLit Assessment Series?

In all grades, the cutoff score for the On Grade Level Performance Group is 205 and the cutoff score for the Above Grade Level Performance Group is 220. This consistency will enable teachers and administrators to more easily evaluate student performance across time and compare performance at their school year over year.

Teachers can find the cutoff scores at the bottom of the Student Performance Groups table, as shown below:

Note: Prior to the 2024-2025 school year, cutoff scores were determined separately for each grade level.
