If your district has chosen to purchase Assessment Series in CommonLit School Essentials Pro, you will not have access to the free reading assessment on CommonLit.org. Instead, you’ll be able to collect baseline data through the first assessment in the Assessment Series. You’ll also have access to a Mid-Year and a Post-Assessment to help you track students’ reading growth throughout the reading year.

You can view assessment data on the assessment's Analyze Data page as soon as at least one student has submitted their assessment.

From your Assignments page, click on your class's name and then find the assessment. Click the VIEW DATA button in the bottom right to view comparative data, your students' raw scores, and their averages for the covered standards.

If all of your students have completed their assessment, the assessment will move to the Completed view on your Assignments page. Click on the "Completed" tab under the Assignment Status section on the left to find your class' data there.

For best practices on how to differentiate in order to support students at different reading levels, see our blog post: 4 Ways to Use CommonLit to Support Differentiation.

Please note, we do not offer item analysis for this assessment, so neither teachers nor students can see how students answered individual questions. We do show teachers and students how students answered individual questions for all other CommonLit assignments. However, the assessment is merely intended to help you understand your students' proficiency at the start of the year so that you can then assign CommonLit reading assignments accordingly.
