Why isn't my assignment linking to Canvas?

This article is intended only for customers and partners using Canvas. Our Canvas integration is available for schools and districts who purchase our School Essentials PRO package.

If your assignment isn't linking to Canvas, first check whether you have selected to load the assignment in a new window. To check if you are loading an assignment in a new window, go to your assignment on Canvas and click the Edit Assignment Settings button.

Then, scroll down to Submission Type and check if "Load This Tool In A New Tab" has been selected.

If you have selected this option, you will then need to click the Load [Assignment name] in a new window button to complete the linking process.

If you have not selected this option, please try creating a new Canvas assignment and then link your CommonLit assignment to your newly created Canvas assignment.
