Why can't I import my course sections from Canvas?

This article is intended only for customers and partners using Canvas. Our Canvas integration is available for schools and districts who purchase our School Essentials PRO package.

If you’ve set up sections within a course on Canvas, LTI will not allow Commonlit to import those individual sections as unique classes on CommonLit.

Since you can only import the course as a CommonLit class, when you view your imported Canvas course on CommonLit, all students will appear in the same class. CommonLit will still send scores for this course to Canvas and you can still view grades for each section on your Canvas gradebook.
